About

Tony and Liz Lucas

Tony came to gardening early having been given his first small plot when he was about three years old. He distinctly remembers his first big gardening success resulted from the purchase of a packet of Cuthbert’s Virginia Stock seeds bought from Woolworths. Once sown they bloomed quickly, as they do, and from that moment he was hooked.

Liz remembers her first big gardening success as sowing a packet of Antirrhinum seeds and being able to prick out 149 seedlings. These days Liz cares for all the seedlings and young plants until they are ready for planting out by the residents in the homes. As Tony says: “Liz does all the hard work whilst he does all the talking.”
